The Studio Player seamlessly integrates WADAX technology into a single chassis, combining the functionalities of a CD/SACD player, a transmitter and a DAC for unparalleled comfort.
Wadax Studio Player
The Studio Player seamlessly integrates WADAX technology into a single chassis, combining the functionalities of a CD/SACD player, a transmitter and a DAC for unparalleled comfort. Built with the same digital-analog circuit as the acclaimed Atlantis Reference DAC, the Studio Player delivers exceptional performance with an optimized design. Its intuitive interface guarantees easy handling, allowing users to fully immerse themselves in the listening experience.
Designed for expansion, additional components such as the Studio power supply, Studio clock or Akasa DC Studio cable further improve performance, ensuring that Studio Player evolves with your system. Offering an unparalleled listening experience for any other multifunction digital component, Studio Player unleashes the full potential of your system, allowing you to experience music like never before.
Experience music in your own league with Studio Player: a testament to innovation, performance and the search for musical perfection.
Simplified transmission
Studio Player offers an optimized playback experience, designed for maximum simplicity and ease of use. Instead of relying on additional streaming management software, Studio Player has been certified by Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, Audirvana and Roon for playback with direct connection. Other streaming services will be added. This means that users can easily connect to Studio Player using the original app of their favorite streaming service. Switching between streaming services is as simple as switching apps. The use of the native app for each streaming service ensures that Studio Player does not require frequent updates to keep up to date, which reduces downtime due to software maintenance and allows users to enjoy their music for longer.
In addition, this setting allows any device with a streaming application to function as a Studio Player controller. Users can view the illustrations and control the volume comfortably from the comfort of their chair. Backed by the technology developed for the renowned Atlantis Reference Server, Studio Player guarantees smooth playback with a level of interaction and musical performance that only WADAX can offer.
Play all your discs
The CD was introduced more than forty years ago and, since then, a large amount of music that is not available in other formats has been encoded in this format. Studio Player incorporates a disc player that reads Red Book (CD) and Scarlett Book (SACD) discs, allowing you to play music in any format. The combination of an optical disc transport system with advanced WADAX technologies offers naturalness and organic quality unattainable in other digital music playback systems.
With industry-leading fluctuation reduction and WADAX’s exclusive advance music topology, Studio • Player transforms your optical media data into an engaging and palpable listening experience.
THE UNIQUE PROCESS OF CORRECTING MUSIC ADVANCE ERRORS
Conventional digital decoding has difficulties reaching its theoretical performance: components and circuits never behave ideally, which generates a complex and polluting mixture of non-linearities that contaminates the delicate audio signals during and AFTER conversion.
The delicate microinformation and expressive nuances of the musical signal are obscured by the interactions between power supplies, synchronization, grounding, analog circuits and the digital-to-analog converter. To complicate things even more, these non-linearities and error mechanisms depend on the load and vary with the amplitude of the signal. Together they form the basis of what we know as “digital sound”.
WADAX technology is based on the unique musIC process, a sophisticated pre-feed error correction system that operates in the time domain. By mapping the error mechanisms of a DAC chip selected under load using Adaptive Delta-Hilbert Mapping, we can develop an algorithm that examines the incoming signal and calculates the resulting induced error (both linear and non-linear). By applying a reverse signal to the input, we can correct in real time the time and phase error, so musically destructive in other conventional decoding systems.
This process requires a large number of mathematical operations and considerable data transfer: 12.8 GB/s. Processing is done at an internal resolution of 128 bits to accurately render the output and generate the least pre-feed corrections. The result is, both in terms of measurement and hearing, the most natural and musically communicative digital decoding possible today, something that becomes evident when listening to Studio Player.
Studio • Player in Numbers:
The chassis design is crucial and has a great influence on the final performance. It is an extremely complex design, and each unit is composed of 620 custom-made pieces. 14 different materials and alloys have been used to manage the resonance and channeling of vibrations.
• 40 individual printed circuit boards.
• More than 4500 discrete components.
• 128-bit musIC 3 fixed point error correction process with double differential signal advancement.
• Fully balanced dual mono design with complete physical and electrical separation of the left and right channels (digital and analog).
• Digital circuit aligned at 100 hp.
• 0.5 uV of total rail noise (1 Hz-100 KHz): ultra-sophisticated power supply with distributed regulation topology.
• 30 stages of local regulation, 5 stages of CC regulation.
• Gain and output impedance adjustable by the user.
• With optional Studio • Clock: only 20 fs of total fluctuation.
