The Mystery Two is a pure Class A valve preamplifier built for high-resolution audio reproduction and signal purity.
It uses a valve-rectified power supply and a fully tube-based signal path with 3 × ECC83 (12AX7) and EZ81 (6CA4)rectifier tubes, ensuring a natural and stable electrical flow. The circuit operates in Class A, delivering extremely low distortion (<0.1% at 1 V RMS) and a wide bandwidth of 5 Hz to 100 kHz (±1 dB) for highly detailed and extended frequency response.
With a gain of 21.5 dB and a maximum output level of 30 V RMS, it provides strong and clean signal drive capability. The output stage features a non-inverting design with an output impedance of approximately 800 Ω, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of power amplifiers.
Input switching is handled by nitrogen-filled, gold-plated relays for maximum signal integrity, while the unit offers five line-level inputs (CD, AV, Tuner, Aux/Phono, Rec.) and multiple stereo outputs for system flexibility. Input impedance is set at 100 kOhm / 47 pF for stable and transparent source matching.
Despite its high performance, the unit remains energy-efficient with a maximum power consumption of just 25 W. It is housed in a solid chassis with a cherry wood finish, weighing 15 kg and measuring 46.5 × 34 × 13.5 cm.
Overall, the Mystery Two is designed as a high-end analogue control centre, focusing on purity, dynamics, and tonal accuracy through a fully valve-based Class A architecture.
