The reference in audio reproduction
The new The Classic Reference combines technical precision with refined luxury design. It is based on the The Classic EVO and benefits from the experience gained while developing the iconic turntable for the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
Speed & Motor Control (33 / 45 / 78 RPM)
The motor is powered by a DC-driven AC generator, which produces a clean sine wave. This ensures highly accurate speed stability and minimizes unwanted fluctuations.
Main Platter
A stable foundation for your records
The platter is precision-machined from a հատուկ aluminium alloy and features an internal TPE damping ring, designed to reduce vibrations and unwanted resonances.
Aluminium Sub-Platter
Improved accuracy and stability
The diamond-cut aluminium sub-platter offers tighter tolerances compared to standard plastic designs. Its increased mass improves rotational stability and helps reduce noise and resonance.
Limited Edition Cartridge
The Classic Reference is available with the VPO Anniversary MC cartridge, developed in collaboration with members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and manufactured in Europe by Ortofon according to Pro-Ject specifications.
Sub-Chassis Construction
The floating sub-chassis isolates the platter and tonearm from motor vibrations and the main plinth. The aluminium structure rests on TPE damping elements for effective decoupling.
High-End Tonearm
EVO 9 AS HG
The turntable is equipped with the precision EVO 9 AS HG tonearm. It features an inverted cardanic bearing (Swiss ABEC 7 quality) with four stainless steel contact points. The bearing is mounted in a solid aluminium housing for stability, while the S-shaped aluminium tonearm tube provides high internal damping. The SME-type headshell allows for flexibility, and the internal wiring is made from high-purity copper for optimal signal transmission.
True Balanced XLR Output
In addition to standard RCA connections, The Classic Reference includes balanced XLR outputs. Balanced transmission significantly reduces noise and interference, resulting in a cleaner audio signal.
