The STAX SRM‑400S is a driver/headphone amplifier featuring all‑stage FET configuration DC amplification with selected low‑noise FETs and a signal path without coupling capacitors for consistent, high‑resolution audio performance. It offers one RCA input and one mutually exclusive XLR input, along with an RCA parallel output. The amplifier is powered by a newly designed power transformer for improved efficiency and sound quality. Its frequency response runs from DC up to 90 kHz (measured with an SR‑L500 MK2), with 60 dB gain, harmonic distortion ≤ 0.01 %(1 kHz/100 Vrms), and a maximum output voltage of 400 V RMS.
