The Amazon 2 Turntable is engineered with a resonance-free ICI chassis and three LRP (Low Resilience Polymer) damping elements. It features a 5 kg metacrylate platter precisely matched to vinyl characteristics and a ceramic inverted bearing for silent, stable rotation. An isolated DC motor with LSC speed control ensures smooth playback at 33/45 rpm, finely adjustable via a 1:25 gearbox. An optimized external power supply guarantees clean and uninterrupted performance.
Chassis
The chassis is made from a special ICI cast material designed to eliminate resonance. This structure offers extremely high internal damping due to its composition. Three LRP damping elements (Low Resilience Polymer) are integrated into the sub-chassis construction, decoupling the platter system from the base while suppressing unwanted oscillations.
Compared to traditional metal spring systems, this design avoids material resonance and mechanical sway. The base is connected using three metal spikes. Setup is fast and simple, requiring only horizontal leveling without additional spring adjustments.
Platter
The 5 kg platter is made from cast metacrylate with acoustic properties closely matching vinyl. It is precision-machined under temperature-controlled conditions and then undergoes quenching and tempering to eliminate internal stress that could affect sound quality.
The flat platter profile ensures optimal contact between vinyl and surface. Additionally, a resonance diffuser in the inner area reduces known plastic platter resonances in the 9–13 kHz range.
Bearing
The platter is supported by a ceramic ball in an inverted bearing design. Both bearing bush and vertical axis are made of hardened steel with extremely tight tolerances for silent and durable operation.
A thin layer of special oil from a reservoir ensures consistent lubrication. The massive structure and geometry prevent oscillation, confirmed through pulse measurement tests. The inverted design also provides a high fulcrum point, minimizing tilt and mechanical instability.
Motor Unit
The system uses a DC motor with Linear Speed Control (LSC), mechanically isolated from the chassis to eliminate vibration transfer. A high-capacity external switching power supply delivers far more current than required for stable operation.
A duplex material belt transfers energy from pulley to platter. Speed selection between 33 rpm and 45 rpm is electronic, with individual fine tuning supported via a 1:25 gearbox system.
