Travelling to the moment the music was recorded
Accuracy level

Nude Elliptical stylus
Stylus
The Nude diamond is cut in an Elliptical shape, and when it hits the groove, it is like travelling through both space and time to the very moment the music was recorded.
Universal fit
Compatibility
Created to facilitate simple installation of the cartridge and to ensure compatibility with the dimensions and weights of today’s most popular turntables, the 2M Series offers four distinct product versions:
The 2M is for most common turntables on the market, the 2M Premounted for customers who wish direct and easy mounting and replacement on their S-shaped tonearm, the 2M Verso for bottom mount headshells, and the 2MR, which is designed with cartridge housing tailored for turntables and tonearms like Rega, matching their requirement for low-form factor cartridges.
Split pole pin technology
Features
The 2M Blue features Ortofon’s very own invention and trademark: split pole pins. An invention that enables moving magnet cartridges to have a flat frequency response as with a moving coil cartridge.
In this video, you will learn about four cartridge technologies, including the split pole pin technology. Leif Johannsen, Ortofon’s Chief Officer of Acoustics and Research, explains how the technology works by reducing the loss of energy and hereby the loss of the musical signal.
High level of sonic accuracy
Output
The engine provides an increased output of 5.5 mV optimized sound reproduction and a high level of sonic accuracy. The 2M Blue adds more dynamics and resolution, sounds more open, and reproduces more details compared to the 2M Red model.
Is it worth the upgade?
“… The 2M Blue is a simple and easy upgrade that anyone can make to add more detail and definition to an already great cartridge. I found myself wanting to listen back to some of my all-time favorite albums, as the Blue stylus certainly revealed a little extra depth and detail that was pushed further back with the 2M Red…“Marc Henshall | Sound Matters
Exploring Ortofon’s 2M Lineup:
“…The 2M line has become a de facto reference for moving-magnet cartridges … It is due to both the sound quality of the various 2M models as well as the wide price range across the line … The differences among the four stereo 2M models occur in three primary areas: stylus profile, body material, and engine …
…with the 2M Blue …you get the audiophile treatment: a full-range, highly resolving presentation that sounds neither stiff nor unforgiving. In fact, the 2M Blue’s balance, both tonally and in terms of overall resolution, may be its greatest feat. It’s an easy cartridge to listen to, and even novice listeners…“

The Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge:
“… the Ortofon worked fine from new and cold … well-focused and relatively neutral sound, tidy and tuneful …
… more focused around a level midband … could find low bass where needed …
… had a very impressive ability to sound balanced …
… allowing a performance to be listened into with ease …
… will suit anyone after a more natural sound.“Andrew Harrison | Hi-Fi News
